Indie Radio 113.9
Title: Indie Radio 113.9
Author: Saura Underscore
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press April 2013
Blurb: Jacob Timber is hopelessly crushing on very private radio personality Ethan Moore—host of the most famous Indie music radio show on London’s 113.9, the Jukebox Hour—but being in love with a voice isn’t much different than being alone. Jacob’s not even sure the man is gay.
Jacob is so infatuated that all he wants for his birthday is to meet his crush in person—and he gets his wish. With Ethan and Jacob, it’s love at first sight.
But do dreams really come true? Despite how he feels in Ethan’s arms, Jacob doubts it. He knows he’ll never be happy with a man who pretends to love him, only to bring his true girlfriend to public events.
Review: What a cute and sweet little novella. Told from Jacob’s perspective we are treated to a romance of misunderstanding, bad decisions, and what one man is willing to do to make things right.
Jacob and Ethan are adorable together, the kind of couple that we want to smack and tell to get a room almost as much as we wish that we were part of a couple just like them. I loved that the crush that Jacob had on Ethan turned into a relationship. It’s not stalking if they’re flattered instead of filing a police report.
I enjoyed the disc jockey aspect and how the author used the time that Jacob spent listening to Ethan to build our sense of who Ethan is and to help us to fall for him just a little as well.
While the novella is short at 80 pages it was a fun story that picked up speed and had you rooting for these sweet boys to find a way back together.
