Blurb: He left his seamy past…and found a steamy romance.
When Louis Guzman signs on with a Hollywood nanny agency and scores a job offer on his very first interview, he’s thrilled for the chance to start fresh—and hopeful that no one will delve too deeply into his checkered work and romantic past.
Helping an amicably divorced Beverly Hills power couple raise their two adorable children is the perfect situation. Too perfect to let a vibe of attraction to the handsome producer tempt Louis to flirt his way to a pink slip.
Since he came out, Dan Krefman has been too busy with his job to experiment with his newly embraced sexuality. But with undercurrents sizzling like live power cables between him and his kids’ hunky Latino nanny, he’s finding it hard to maintain his distance.
Louis promises Dan—and himself—that just one encounter will get the lust out of both their systems. But it’s only the beginning…and when Louis’s past crawls out of the shadows, dirty secrets threaten to destroy not only his own future, but the family he has come to love.
Review: I really enjoyed this story. It was great that, while it had some serious things happening, it was still light and sexy. I think there are a lot of people who’ve experienced some version of these people’s issues at some point in their lives, which made it relatable. That being said, it was a great fantasy.
Louis was adorable, sweet, charming, sexy and a fantastic nanny. I loved the way he interacted with the children. He fit right in and quickly became part of the family. It was refreshing how he didn’t allow his past to weigh down his present, he wasn’t in denial about it, he simply chose to try to live in the now. The relationship that developed between Louis and Dan was fantastic. While there were bumps and some serious issues had to be dealt with, the way they supported and trusted each other was beautiful.
Having grown up without family or many role models, Louis wasn’t used to being accepted for who he was, without having to pay his way with his body or by changing into who people wanted. It was wonderful to watch him become part of a real family. I was afraid right alongside Louis when his past came out that he would be rejected and that everyone would take the easy way out of the situation.
Dan was so sexy. There is nothing hotter than a man who parents his children with love, devotion and patience. Add in his confidence tempered by a sweet vulnerability, and an open appreciation for his lover and wow! It took awhile to get to the place he wanted to be in his life regarding his sexuality, but he finally finds the strength to be open and honest with everyone, and finds true happiness and peace.
I love loved that the author didn’t make the ex-wife an evil she-devil who deserved whatever happened to her. Instead they remained friends and partners in raising their children. It was fantastic that they didn’t use their children to punish each other or try to one up one another. The relationship that developed between the kid’s mom, Crissi and Louis was a real treat.
This book had me smiling, laughing, and sweating from beginning to end. As always with the really good ones, it was suddenly hours later and I was amazed that the story had ended. Sexy, sweet, charming and full of love with a great happy ending.
