Blurb: Jason Lewis is a self-proclaimed nerdy guy who hates his red hair. Bullied most of his life, at 22 social situations still make him awkward. On a trip to the World Video Game Expo in Las Vegas, Jason decides to enlist the help of Madame Eve in his failed romantic endeavors. While at the con, he runs into sexy, professional baseball pitcher Blake Huntington, the guy he tutored in high school. Blake invites him to a party and after hanging out with his high school crush, Jason begins to regret booking his 1NS “encounter” later that night. But Madame Eve may have planned the best night ever.
Review: I am a little set in my ways when it comes to what I read. This means I tend to stick to my tried and true authors, which can mean missing out on great books! Wadsworth is new to me but I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this! The Best Ever is a cute, sexy short story that left me with a smile on my face.
Jason recently finished graduate school and decides to treat himself to a Vegas trip to the World Video Game Expo as well as a 1Night Stand. While at the Expo he runs into someone he never thought he’d see again, his old tutoring student from high school. Blake is a professional baseball player at the Expo to promote a sports game he’s a part of and is thrilled to see his old tutor Jason all grown up. They catch up but Jason knows he has his special encounter set for later but it may not go the way he planned…
Jason and Blake have a happy for now ending that leaves the reader hopeful they will make it in the long term. I’m glad the author didn’t give it a perfect ending, these guys will need to work out some issues before they can make it permanent. This is not a full length novel, it’s a short that occurs over a one day time period and is actually part of a loosely based series, called 1Night Stand. You do not need to read any of the other books to enjoy this one.
I love a good nerd and jock story and this one fits the bill. For a little reconnecting and cute loving I recommend this story.
