Quad Shot of Love

Blurb:  When paleontologist Nick Eisenberg learns that someone thinks they have found velociraptor bones in Alberta, his curiosity overrides his desire to stay in London. After all, he’s one of the world’s leading experts on prehistoric predators and has always wanted to look for the velociraptor’s North American cousins. There’s only one problem: eco-conservationist Hunter Joseph. While Nick supervises the dig, Hunter rallies support from the locals to oppose the way the team is destroying the landscape in their search for dinosaur bones.

Nick and Hunter just cannot get along. Hunter is self-righteous and pouty. Nick is narrow-minded and geeky. But they have to figure out how to work on the same site without killing each other, especially since someone else out there seems determined to cause Nick more problems than he could have ever imagined.

Review:  I might have arm wrestled Nina for the chance to review this book. I won. And all the arm strain was worth this read. Let’s face it scientists are sexy and one that likes to get his hands dirty…I just saw you one click this book.

Nick is a brilliant man. He is young for his profession, but his intelligence, instincts and ability to turn his team into a family sets him apart. He has built a career searching and studying raptors and when he gets the chance to head to Alberta and do some digging, he jumps on it.

Hunter is a passionate and intelligent man, like Nick. His passion though is in conflict with Nick’s and causes tension from the very beginning. But Hunter is also honest and instead of inhibiting Nick’s work he becomes his ally. An ally with teeth, but nothing worth fighting for ever came easy. And they both know that.

Then on top of all of the physical tension and the dig excitement, someone is sabotaging the site. Everyone has to work together to solve the mystery before not just a great discovery is destroyed, but someone is hurt.  It was so much fun! I was bouncing in my seat trying to figure out the mystery.

Great main characters that were engaging with fantastic supporting characters that fleshed out their world. The author brought the story to life and gave it a terrific depth with the other people and personalities in the story.

I really enjoyed this book. It was everything I was hoping for and more. I can see this book sitting firmly on my re-read shelf. A fantastic read.
