Blurb:  Charlie thinks his Friday will be the same as any other working as an animator, until Quinn Fitzgerald and his rescued Asiatic Lion, Aseem, walk into the studio. While the lion is impressive, his handler is the real reason Charlie’s heart skips a beat.

Quinn has devoted years of his life to rescuing big cats, so he can’t turn down the donation the animation company is offering in exchange for using one of his cats as a model.

Charlie isn’t quite as confident as the handsome, charming man his sister teasingly calls Sex God Quinn Fitzgerald. He’s so nervous he can hardly talk to the other man, so he’s shocked when Quinn not only notices him but invites him to spend the weekend at his big cat sanctuary.

Note:  This novella is derived from a combination of two novellas previously published by Silver Publishing: Taming the Lion Tamer and Lions in the Candlelight.

Review:  It was a cute novella. Quinn is a hotty, invested in his big cat sanctuary. He sees Charlie and there is an instant attraction. Charlie is living a boring day to day life. Yes he works in an movie studio, but the work isn’t fulfilling and living with his sister and nieces can be draining.

One drawing and a date with a tour of the wild cat facilities leads them to spend the weekend together. I have to admit the first couple of scenes, made me think this was a pretty tame book. But then they meet for their date and clothes go flying. It shocked me to be honest. I had to recheck I was reading the same book. The intense sex scenes with the sweet insta love feel felt a bit forced.

They come together quick, literally and relationship wise, and progress very fast into a committed couple. I usually love seeing the second half past the first, I love you’s, and into the meat of a commitment but this was very quick with very little depth.

I really wanted to like this book. And I didn’t not like it. It just felt forced and rushed. Charlie didn’t feel real either. Is he a marketing guy? Or an artist? Does he move quickly or does he need time? His emotions were hidden from the reader while Quinn was too impulsive for someone who runs his own business, travels, handles wild animals.

Was it still sweet? Yes. Will I read it again? Probably not.
