The Wish Auger
Title: The Wish Auger
Author: Cecil Wilde
Publisher: Less Than Three Press
Length:
Rating: B List
Blurb: Gabriel Juarez has only one wish for Christmas, uttered moments before midnight on Christmas Eve: a hug. He wakes up the next morning to find his wish being haphazardly granted in the form of an insecure elf called Felix, who works as a wish augur and couldn’t bring himself to let Gabe’s wish go unfulfilled.
Review: A thoroughly enjoyable Holiday novella. I fell in love with Gabe and Felix and had a wonderful time spending Gabe’s Christmas break with them as they fell in love.
Gabe’s wish is heartbreaking and I was so pleased for him that he’d gotten it fulfilled by such a sweet and delightful elf. Felix is so happy and eager, Gabe can’t help but trust him and of course fall for him,
Both of them were so sad and lonely when they meet. And both of them gain confidence, happiness and peace as they spend time together. Their complete acceptance of each other, genuine affection and growing attachment create a fun and easy romance. They are absolutely adorable.
A fun, sweet, hopeful and romantic short story that’s perfect for the holidays.
