Blurb:  Blurb: Rob Barker had plans for his weekend and they didn’t involve struggling through the pre-Christmas crowds with the five-year-old niece he barely knows. Left with no choice, he grudgingly takes Pearl to see the sights of London, but instead of following the list his sister-in-law gives him, Rob takes her to With A Kick, an ice-cream shop with a difference. His plan is foiled when he discovers With A Kick is closed for a private children’s party, but the owners kindly let Pearl join in.

Rob’s mood improves considerably as he watches Father Christmas hand out presents. Not only is Santa a hot red-head under the beard, he is also one of his rugby team-mates, Mick, a man Rob has always lusted after. After Mick confesses a mutual interest, he agrees to meet Rob at With A Kick’s evening party.

And at this party, there are definitely no kids – or girls – allowed.

Note:  Though this book is part of With a Kick series, it can be read as a standalone.

Review:  A great short story about family, friendship, acceptance, forgiveness, the holiday season, hot men and delicious booze blended ice cream.

It’s amazing what you will learn about people if you give them a chance. Sometimes you can find new friends and maybe even love, if you’ll open up your mind and spend some time.

Rob finds this to be true when he spends the afternoon with his young niece. I think those two will be friends for life now. When he relaxed a little, so did she, Rob found that maybe the evil sister-in-law didn’t have to be the enemy. When he gave his long time crush, Mick, the time and attention he needed to come out of his shell, Rob found a love and acceptance he’d didn’t realize he craved.

Mick is a deep one. A bit of a short fuse to go with all that beautiful ginger hair and a huge hard body that entrances Rob. He led Rob on a bit of a chase that was well worth every moment.

I loved these guys. They were sweet without being sappy, totally hot for each other while still maintaining a buddy aspect to their relationship. Both men have been trying to hide who they were from most of the world for fear of rejection and harassment. It was great to see them open up and allow a little hope into their lonely lives.

A fantastic holiday novella that can be devoured anytime of the year. Another great addition to a fun and sexy series full of heart.
