Quad Shot of Love

Blurb:  Kidnapping was not Daniel’s plan, but when he met a man who seemed unaffected by his magic, Daniel couldn’t just let him go.

Eren has every reason to hate Daniel, and no reason at all to like him. He’s not some fairytale to be kept in a glass room at the top of a tower. And he’s definitely going to have to rescue himself. He has a mother and girlfriend to get back to, after all, and a life waiting for him.

But the hardest part of escaping proves to be his reluctance to leave a man who is much more than he at first seemed…

Review:  I really liked this story. It was a lot of fun, not to mention funny and sweet and silly.

Let’s begin by accepting that obviously this is not the ideal way to begin a relationship. But this is a work of romantic fiction not a self help book on dating. Having said that I also have to say that I couldn’t help but sympathize with Daniel and understand how he could get caught up in the drama of the situation and give in to his overwhelming need and loneliness. Nor could I help falling for Daniel any more than Eren could.

Daniel was so terribly alone and had been for most of his life. I ached for the little boy and the man he grew into. There was something beautiful about him, in his awkwardness and stifling pride, even as he acted the petulant brat. So much pain and anger, such isolation and rejection. Is it any wonder that he withdrew from the world and began to reject everyone first?

Eren became so much more through his experience with Daniel. He was a nice man, took care of his mom and didn’t make waves, always going along and trying to please everyone. Which hid a level of resentment and anger that I don’t think Eren was even aware of. Eren came into his own during his time with Daniel, he became stronger and began to stand up for what he wanted.

A very enjoyable fantasy tale of magic, love, loneliness, hope, friendship, family, loyalty, and a romance that starts out all wrong but ends so very right.
