Quad Shot of Love

Blurb: Julian “Quinn” Quinetro, a gruff, tough Miami SWAT officer, has been injured on the job, and all he’s looking for is a little peace and quiet to recover—difficult to achieve with his large Cuban family. An adventure in picking up his prescriptions puts him in the path of his geeky, brownie-baking neighbor, Spencer Morgan. Spencer sweeps into Quinn’s life like a tropical storm of sunshine and rainbows. Not surprisingly, it’s chaos at first sight. Quinn’s in need of a little tender loving care, and Spencer decides he’s just the man for the job. Their very different lives might clash, but they might also find some common ground—and maybe more.

Review: This is such a fun story. What happens when a sexy geek who’s had his eye on the hot cop next door finally gets a chance to make his move? Sparks fly, science fiction is watched, lots of delicious food is eaten and two men who seem vastly different find they have all they need in common to make love happen.

Quinn is crazy busy, and okay a bit of an ass, and has noticed the geeky neighbor, and okay dismissed him. But Quinn is hurt now and he has nothing but time to sit around and after a rocky (read klutzy) start he begins to see that there is a lot more to his neighbor, and a happy life, than he realized. Before he knows it he’s ready to get very cozy with his sexy geek.

Spencer is totally adorkable and I love him. He’s brave, funny, sweet, a great friend and an amazing cook. I need some of those brownies!

Quinn’s family, both those on his team at work and the huge Cuban family he was born into are amazing. They are the center of his world and he spends all of his free time with them. When he gets hurt they all rally around him and once they see that he is interested in Spencer he can’t get them to leave them alone.

Quinn is finding that being out is more than just sex. He’s struggled finding balance in his work as a cop. And while he is out with his family he has never brought anyone into their lives. Now that he is getting to know and care for Spencer he has to find more than just balance, he has to figure out that having a relationship means more investment and a bigger payoff. I liked his struggle and the way he opened himself up to Spencer and what that will mean in its entirety.

One of the things that gave me hope for these very different men having a future together was that along with the attraction between there is also friendship and shared interests. They like each other and enjoy spending time together. if you can get through a painful injury, and all of the grumpiness that goes along with it, then you can get through making a life together.
