A Changing of the Guard
Anita:
When Red and I first started this site, I envisioned long, lazy afternoons on my couch reading LGBT books, sipping wine, and writing loving reviews with a twinkle in my eye. I imagined book discussions with authors and readers alike, and lots of time to grow the site and provide honest, respectful reviews.
The reality is, life as a single mom with two kids in sports and a full time job, I am no longer able to devote the proper amount of attention to the books that deserve to be read with focus. A couple lines of prose in line at the grocery store or in the doctor’s office waiting room might be fine for pleasure reading, but the writers who devote themselves to their craft deserve more from me. I want to be able to take notes, spend time writing my honest opinion of a title, and really put some value into my reviews so that even the ones I didn’t like get a good explanation as to why. The sad fact is, I can’t.
Red:
Red here. I feel the same way Anita does, but life has other plans for me. Things have become much more complex than I imagined and regretfully, I must move on. I loved starting this site with Anita, and I will miss it, but we leave it in the capable hands of Nina and whomever she chooses to join her. Thanks for reading!
Anita:
I will still be checking for new book recs here, and Nina is well in place to take over where we have left off. We really appreciate our readers and those who have followed us in the last several months. We hope you will continue to submit your stories or get your LGBT book recommendations here. Happy reading!
