Quad Shot of Love

Blurb:  A Lycan descendant of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Tristan is not as extraordinary as his ancestors. He is an average warrior, unremarkable throughout. But this fact does not trouble him because he has found his Twin Flame, the one person destined to be his, who will love him unconditionally, life after life.

Then his Flame betrays him, leaving him shattered and dying. Brokenhearted, Tristan dissolves the sacred bond and leaves. His best friend, Ushna, accompanies him, vowing to guard and protect him, and Tristan slowly comes to realize that love does not require a sacred bond.

But if he hopes to keep the love he chooses, they will first have to survive ancient secrets, lies, mythical creatures, and the return of absent gods…

Review:  I love this story! I am looking forward to reading the next installments to this series so much. This series has so many things that I adore that I am upset that it’s too late at night to make Beans read it right now. I started reading it and I didn’t look up again until I was finished.

Shifters, magic, fantastic world building with its own mythology and pantheon, friendship, loyalty, family, and love. Sexy cowboys riding horses on a working ranch. Enough drama to make things interesting and a few twists and turns to keep things exciting.

Tristan has a self deprecating sense of humor and a kind sweetness that guides his actions. When we first meet him he has been wrecked by his Twin Flames’ betrayal and the dissolution of their bond leaves him barely hanging on to life. His grief is so deep that no one is sure that he will survive. The only thing holding him to the world is his best friend, Ushna.

Beautiful, loyal and quiet Ushna, of the compelling green eyes and gentle care. Ushna who vows to stay with him and guard him. His lifelong best friend and constant companion. They go out into the world together and they build a new life, home, family, together. Never once does Ushna falter in his devotion, keeping Tristan safe, keeping him sane, forcing him through his grief to survive. Never asking for anything in return.

Until one day Tristan realizes that the wound has healed. That he wants to stay alive. That his soul has finally healed. And that maybe there are things that have waited patiently and carefully for him to see them again. As things keep getting more complicated and dangerous he is going to have to decide what and who he loves and needs and hold them all tightly if they are all going to survive what is coming.

I can’t believe that we got so much from so few pages. I am waiting for the next books, for the rest of this story. The ending was abrupt and frustrating, but I know that there is so much more coming and I can’t wait to see where Lexi Ander takes Tristan and Ushna and their growing pack. Please tell me that I get more soon.

Highly recommended for those who love stories of shifters, hurt/comfort, healing and new beginnings, friends to lovers and awesomeness.
