Quad Shot of Love

Quad Shot of Love

Blurb:   ‘T is the season. Greg’s nights are silent and his bells don’t jingle. This time last year his boyfriend broke up with him, and he’s determined to get through these holidays with only minor bruising. So what if he lives with a cat and his best friend is his mother? Peace and quiet: that’s life how he likes it. Nothing is going to blindside him this year, no sir. Especially not a rogue secret Santa.

Review:  This book was fantastic. It kept becoming more and better. When I read the blurb I thought cute, sweet, sappy holiday romance novella, sounds like fun. And it was all of that and more. I fell for these guys and was pulled into the mystery, romance and drama.

Greg is a sweetheart, always helping everyone around him, ready with a kind word even when he struggles socially. He deserves his happy ending and I very much enjoyed watching him be wooed by someone who truly appreciates him.

Poor Greg. He’s so very shy and uncertain, always underestimating how valuable he is. Still recovering from the scars of a bad relationship and its break up last Christmas he can’t believe that his secret Santa isn’t playing a trick on him. I sympathized with his introversion and self doubt, we’ve all had relationships that left us insecure and questioning other people’s motives. Watching him regain his confidence and sense of purpose was great.

The mystery is mild, but very fun and sweet. I liked the development of the different possible suspects and the relationships that were revealed as we looked for clues as to who could be the one leaving presents. Some of them were very kind and showed that the person was paying attention and trying to give Greg things he liked or needed.

The romance had me smiling and happy for them. Greg’s mom had me cracking up. They’re cute together and it was great that they were able to support each other and were such good friends.

I am trying to be careful and not give away too much and ruin the mystery so I will keep this review brief and just say that I loved the story. It is well written, with engaging characters and a fun, romantic, sweet and interesting storyline.

A very enjoyable holiday novella that I will be reading again next year.
