Review:  This is the second novella in the Lost Shifter series. I recommend reading the first book, Backwoods Asylum, before you start this one. There is a shared theme and some cross over and it’s an awesome book.

Sidney is silly, fun, sarcastic and young. He’s shy and tends to hesitate, second guessing and overthinking things to death. He blushes so much that there are different shades and intensities to them. Smart mouthed and sassy he holds his own with Brook and Colby. 

Brook is flash and emotion, the outspoken one, first to smile and crack a joke. He can charm everyone and make them laugh. He’s sweet and adorable and a bit of a naughty puppy. 

Colby is quiet control and intensity. He’ll listen and evaluate the situation. Slower to anger, but the one to watch out for. He’s the dominant man in their relationship, not because he’s bossy or controlling them, but because his will is stronger and he understand what they all need. 

Sidney has been crushing on Brook and Colby for years completely unaware that those feelings were returned and that they’ve just been waiting for him to be ready to be with them. It was great seeing the relationship develop. The heat between them was intense and they rarely resisted the temptation. They have known each other their whole lives so they already had an ease and communication. Watching them each adapt to the changes and how happy they all were together was sweet and sexy. 

I loved their family, their parents are best friends so it really is like one big non-traditional and very loving family. Sidney and his dads are hilarious and fun, the love and close bond was tangible. 

The mystery and drama of events in their lives added a layer of tension. Things were emotional and dangerous and it only drew them closer together. 

I really liked this short story. The romance was sweet and while it has a taboo aspect it was a love story. The love that was shared between the brothers, while common in the rabbit shifter culture, was not accepted by the rest of the world. Sidney was taking on more than one challenge when he decided to become involved with them and everyone realized that their lives wouldn’t be easy or simple. 

I enjoyed the connections with the previous story and am excited to read more of this series. 

Fair warning:  This is a triad relationship where all three are in love and physically demonstrative of that love. Yes, that means the twins too.
