Up All Night Satisfaction

Up All Night Satisfaction

Blurb:  Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.

Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.

Reviews:

Beans:  We meet Reg and Jeremy in a bar.  Jeremy is looking for an escape for an evening and Reg is just doing his job and hanging out.  I could picture the scene in my head, a famous music star hiding in plain sight.  They meet and talk, and laugh until it’s time for the bar to close.

Jeremy is high strung, and tired of life on the road.  He just wants to write and play music and have the world leave him alone. The combination of being in the public eye, but also separated from everyone made him incredibly lonely.

Reggie wants to the see the world.  He wants adventure and fun, but understands that will cost him.  So he is saving up.  But when Jeremy hands him the opportunity for all of his dreams he doesn’t hesitate to grab it and his new friend with both hands. Reg is so down to earth and beautiful.  He is the perfect opposite for Jeremy and is able to be the calm in his stormy life.

I really loved this book.  I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy it that much, as I usually avoid the rock star trope like the plague. But this was different.  Yes, it gave us some insight into the crazy behind the scenes, but mostly it was about two men finding each other.

The best thing?  The lack of angst.  I enjoyed the story and didn’t become a watering pot once. There was no emotional turmoil, no crazy clashing and gnashing of teeth.  Just two men who became wonderful friends, lovers, and then partners.

A beautiful book full of love and life.

Nina:  This is a fantastic book.  None of the usual pitfalls and all of the things we love about the genre.

Full disclosure?  I love Cardeno C’s writing style.  I love the sweet love stories full of genuine people I wish I could meet, the happy endings, the lack of unnecessary angst.  I enjoy a fun and sweet flash into love, but I adore a slow burn romance that has meaning and depth and a sense of forever etched into the collection of moments and creation of memories together.  If you can add in some sizzling hot sex you’ve got an amazing story on your hands.

Fuller disclosure?  I usually struggle with rock and roll stories.  I love the sexy, the fun, the artistry and talent.  I hate the sense of entitlement, the infidelity, the self-destructive and selfish ruining of relationships.  I loathe unnecessary angst that serves no purpose other than word count and to create drama. This book rocked the sexy, fun and the behind the scenes look at the talented artist.

Jeremy is a living legend, with famous parents and an amazing music career of his own.  All of that has forced him to live his life inside a bubble.  Always being monitored and censored, groomed from an early age for the music business.  It’s no wonder that he is so suspicious and needy.  No one has ever been in his life because they just liked him.  No one has ever asked him before what he wants or likes or cares about.

Reg is such an every man.  Down to earth, honest, loyal, funny, sweet and charming.  We have all known a guy like Reg, heck some of us are a guy like Reg.  Except for Jeremy.  He’s never met anyone like Reg before and he knows a good thing when he sees it and immediately does whatever he needs to in order to keep Reg in his life. Luckily Reg thinks Jeremy is just as amazing.

I enjoyed the ease of the friends to lovers aspect of their romance.  There was sexual tension and a slow, sweet build up to them moving to a sexual relationship that allowed time for the trust and emotional intimacy to develop.  I could sympathize with Jeremy’s struggle to deal with all of these new emotions and the sudden desire to be with Reg in every way that exists in this world.  Reg was wonderfully patient and understanding, he knew that Jeremy was worth the wait.

It all comes together so beautifully and I was left in awe of Cardeno C’s ability to take a slightly implausible scenario and make me not only believe it, but rejoice and run out and tell people how wonderful this story is.

This song kept playing in my head from beginning to end with these men. A beautiful song to match the all encompassing love they share.
